About LA Film Recovery

LA is more than our home.
LA is our soul.

The recent wildfires didn’t just scorch homes and neighborhoods, displace families and devastate communities — they rattled the foundation of our city’s creative industry. As we deal with the aftermath of the destruction, the uncertainty weighs heavy. What comes next? Where do we go from here?

We hear and share in all of the concern … jobs had already been getting pulled overseas.. now things are only going to get worse.. the industry won’t be able to survive…

Well, we aren’t going to stand by and let that happen.

The LA Film Recovery Project is our way of fighting back. We’re doubling down on keeping production right here in Los Angeles. Hungry Man promises that we will do everything in our power to keep every job we shoot be in LA.

But if a job must leave LA and go overseas for whatever reason — you name it, burnt out locations or the desire to have a French Canadian hockey choir — we’ll donate 3% of our profits to the LA film union crew members whose lives have been directly affected.

We are currently in conversation with union leaders to determine the best way to distribute this money, ensuring that it goes where it will be the most helpful. The exact logistics are still being worked out. It will be a process. But our city and our industry are in a precarious place right now, and we didn’t want to wait any longer to start helping.

And we ask everyone else— whether you’re a production company, agency, client, creative or beyond —to join us. Pledge what you can, however you can, to keep the soul of this industry where it belongs. Every dollar counts. Every effort matters.

We can’t undo the destruction. But we can rebuild - together.
